Yay! I am liking this!
Dinner was:
1) a all-in-one porridge consisting of brown rice, pumpkin, brocoli and tofu
Yes I know he's eating lots of pumpkin and yes, I know he will turn orange. But I kinda went crazy buying pumpkins a week back and I now have to finish them before they turn bad or something.

Declan takes off
Now that Declan is walking ALOT, there are some things I no longer can do.
I cannot:
1) Hold him in my lap and eat at the same time - He just wants to get onto the floor and will wriggle and cry until his feet touches the floor.
2) Put him standing on the floor and browse a book or two - He used to just stand and grab my legs koala style. Now, he just walks away.
As another mommy commented, it's time for me to whip out the leash!
On the other hand, there is ONE thing I CAN do... and I'm actually quite happy about it. I no longer need to sling him. Since he can walk, I can just put him down on the floor, hold his hand and take a stroll together, resting my tired arms in the process.

Julia Gabriel Trial
JG was fun fun fun! I definitely enjoyed the trial and am thinking whether to send him for a full-time class. It is pretty expensive though. Maybe I should just learn from the program and do some stuff on my own. After all, I think it isn't too hard to replicate some of the stuff. Just need to do more research I guess.
2min later: Yup, have done some brief research and there are actually LOADS of ideas on the internet for sensory, gross and fine motor skill activities. So I shall do them on my own!
Now I just need to find material for songs and story-telling...
Some pictures at JG...

Declan wonders why the cars here are so small and tries to locate bigger cars.

Having lots of fun banging away at the xylophone... the other mommies were commenting that I may have a musician in the making. Ha, now why couldn't I have had a private banker in the making? :p

Winnie the teacher asks Declan to put the toys through the top, and does he? No...
He wants to put the toys through the sides where the shapes are located. *Rolls my eyes*

Cindy & I having a good laugh over Sophie rolling all over the mat.

Yummy snack! The boy put the whole cookie in his mouth and didn't remove his hand the whole time. I actually had to pull his hand away to clean the soggy biscuit crumbs away!

Declan took some time to warm up to paints, and STILL managed to get his romper quite blue.

And his absolute fav... Bubbles. Look at the joy on his face.

The second time Declan finishes all his porridge!
Okay, I've concluded that Declan no longer tolerates brown rice. Today he had white rice for his porridge, and feeding him was so much easier! Okay, so he didn't finish his fried egg, but I kind of expected it anyway because he has always had difficulty swallowing non-wet stuff. But he actually went "More!" to my cooking!
Dinner was:
1) omelette with basil, fried with unsalted butter
2) white rice porridge with broccoli and pumpkin

The first time Declan finishes all his porridge!
Yesterday was the first time Declan actually finished the dinner that I cooked!
Dinner was:
1) steamed fish with little slices of ginger, garnished with basil and 2 small slices of butter.
2) brown rice porridge with purple sweet potato and pumpkin
Naturally, it was a fluke, cos he ate less than half bowl today and all I did different was add an egg into the porridge!
Sigh.

Declan turns One!
Finally, the long overdue post of Declan's first birthday. Well, it hasn't really been my fault actually. There was something wrong with blogger that didn't allow me to save drafts or upload pics! Okok, so I was late too, but blogger made the post even later ok... and I've been busy busy busy!
Anyway, here goes!

Declan all ready in his trunks for his pool party... check out that tummy. Lotsa yum yum in that tum tum!

We adults had fun bullying the small one... who happened to be the birthday boy. Haha.

The DIY cake that was just a representation of the actual number of cakes we bought. There were 50 displayed, but we bought 70 in total!

The little flags and candied Hersheys kisses that were added on to give that touch of fun and joy!
